We went to see the Predators again on Tuesday, February 13th as they took on the New Jersey Devils.  We had a great time even though they lost.

We had our February Membership Meeting at Crow's Nest in Green Hills on February 6th. We got the scoop from those who'd just returned from Banff and gave a send-off to those who will be leaving for Breckenridge at the end of the month.  Next meeting is March 5th - don't miss it!

At the end of January we crossed our northern border and visited the town of Banff and the "Big 3" resorts nearby: Lake Louise, Banff Sunshine, Mt. Norquay.  You can see these photos and more in our Photo Gallery .

The extreme cold in Nashville in mid-January pushed our hike of the Old Stone Fort back a week but we didn't let a little rain stop us from checking out all the beautiful waterfalls along the way.

On our first day on the slopes in Park City the snow was a bit thin but we received over four feet of the fresh stuff during our week there!  We had a wonderful time and enjoyed a sleigh ride dinner and visits to the US Ski Team Center of Excellence and the Utah Olympic Park. See the Photo Gallery tab for more pictures.

We kicked off 2024 with a Membership Meeting at Jonathan's Grille in Franklin on January 2nd.  It was great to be able to gather one last time before sending off a group to Park City at the end of the week and to Banff at the end of the month!

When did you first join the ski club?
We thought we were going to move to Nashville before we actually did, so I joined the ski club in 2022, before we’d moved from Oklahoma City. I wanted to get an idea of what kind of trips and activities were available to me in Nashville, as I’d been a member of the Oklahoma City ski club and had gone on a few trips with them.
Favorite ski resort?
I skied at Vail with my father perhaps the first year it opened, or certainly soon after. Our family had been skiing in New England while I was growing up, skied at Aspen a few times, but once Vail opened, it became my family’s favorite resort. My parents, sisters and ultimately all our spouses and some of their families, kids and grandkids have skied there virtually every year for the past 45 years. Other favorite areas of mine are those operated by Canadian Mountain Holidays, a heli-ski operation.

What’s the best trip (traveling wise) you ever had?
It’s a tie. We went on a photo safari to Kenya and Tanzania, but cannot choose between it or a trip to Egypt, visiting the Nile Valley.

Are you a member of any other clubs or organizations?
Percy Priest Yacht Club here in Nashville and Caney Creek Yacht Club on Lake Texoma, a lake between Oklahoma and Texas.

What is your favorite hobby?
Sailing and skiing are my favorite hobbies.

How many countries have you visited outside the US?
Most countries in Europe, England, Kenya and Tanzania, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, China, Kenya, Tanzania, Chile, Argentina, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico, Tahiti, New Zealand, Egypt. I like to travel.

Do you have any pets? What are their names?
We have two dogs. Finn is a 12-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi and Ruby is a 5-month-old Cardigan Welsh Corgi.

What are your favorite sports to watch?
Big fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

What is your favorite dessert?
Apple pie a la mode.
