Our June membership meeting was at Crow's Nest in Green Hills.  We enjoyed a brief meeting and a social time along with some good food.  Be sure to join us next month at our biggest membership meeting of the year!

On Sunday evening, June 2nd, we enjoyed the free concert at Crockett Park in Brentwood.  The WannaBeatles kept us entertained with some classic tunes.  Missed out?  Come with us next week to hear A1A, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band!

Our intrepid hikers had a great time hiking up to LeConte Lodge just before the Memorial Day holiday.  No matter the weather, it's great fun and good views.  Join us on our next big hike to Charit Creek in September.  Reservations open up on June 3 at 1 PM CT.

Thanks to David for hosting a Kentucky Derby party!  It was a lot of fun and fortunately the weather wasn't an issue.  And what a photo finish!  You can find more pictures in our Photo Gallery.

We had a nice turnout for our May meeting at Agave's Mexican Restaurant in Belle Meade.  People were excited to talk about our upcoming trips and learn who is planning to attend each trip.  If you couldn't make it to this meeting, be sure to attend next month's meeting as we'll have more details for our trips finalized and excitement will be building for our trip sign-ups in July.  (And congrats to Bill & Suz!)

Did you catch us at the Nashville Outdoor Recreation Festival & Expo at Bells Bend Park on April 13?  We had absolutely perfect weather for the event and had a great time letting folks know about our club.

Our April meeting was at Corner Pub in Brentwood where we elected officers and directors for the upcoming fiscal year.  The folks who went to Whitefish shared their stories as we look forward to an off-season with warm-weather events.

Our final trip of the season was to Whitefish, Montana.  We had gorgeous views, saw snow ghosts, enjoyed a day trip to Glacier National Park and some even went snowshoeing.  Does it get any better?  We've already announced trips for next season.  Join now and you'll be able to sign up for them in July!

When did you first join the ski club? late 2022
Favorite ski resort? Vail. I have to add my second favorite resort as we went to Sun Valley for my honeymoon.

What’s the best trip (traveling wise) you ever had?
My best trip ever was my trip to Egypt, which has been at the top of my bucket list since childhood. My second favorite trip was to China, because I got to spend two days hiking a remote part of the Great Wall. Both were amazing trips.

Do you have any pets? What are their names?
We have a darling 10-month-old Cardigan Welsh Corgi named Ruby Biscuit (our granddaughters picked her names).

What is your favorite zoo animal?
My favorite zoo animal is the giraffe, but really, I fell in love with them in Africa. Watching them run in the wild is like poetry.

What are your favorite sports to watch?
My favorite sport to watch has always been basketball. I’m currently a big fan of the NBA team the Oklahoma City Thunder.

What movie can you rewatch over and over again?
Any version of “Emma” or really any of the Jane Austen books as movies.

What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas. I love buying gifts, wrapping them, decorating and spending time with my family.

Do you have a famous (or infamous) relative or some other kind of celebrity connection?
I have one somewhat famous relative. My nephew owns Schmackary’s Cookies in Manhattan, NY. While he personally wasn’t featured, his cookies played a prominent role in Season 3 of “Only Murders in the Building”. They’re the best cookies I’ve ever had.
