Nashville Ski Club


Welcome!  Looking for a ski trip for next season? You've come to the right place! We have four great trips lined up and we're just waiting for you to join us.  Meet (at an appropriate social distance) our members at the next club meeting, February 9th at The Rutledge in Cool Springs.  We hope to see you there!

Join our email list by sending an email to nashville-ski+subscribe@googlegroups.com then reply to the confirmation email and that will sign you up.  You may unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions in each email you'll receive from us - which averages about one per week.

Though we had a small turnout for our January meeting, we were excited to be able to discuss our upcoming trips! Hope you'll be able to join us for the next meeting on February 9th at The Rutledge in Cool Springs.

We kicked off the new year with a hike at Virgin Falls.  Join us for our next hike on February 13th!

The Chihuly Lights in Cheekwood Gardens were beautiful and the Cheekwood Mansion was gorgeous as always.



We had great weather for our hike along the Honey Creek Loop!  Join us for our next hike on January 2nd!

2000
Ski club offices held:
Ski club party organizing, decorating assistant to Sandy Hill for the past several years. Missing our fun parties!
Favorite ski resort?
Whistler

What’s the best trip (traveling wise) you ever had?
My home stomping ground is always the best, Bavaria, Austria and Italy. My big adventure was traveling and living in Vietnam and traveling in Thailand and Hong Kong.

If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
Bavaria, Süd Tirol and northern Italy. I would love to rekindle my childhood trips.

How many countries have you visited outside the US?
24: Germany, Kingdom of Bavaria, Austria, Italy, Croatia, Czechoslovakia, Luxembourg, Lichtenstein, Holland, Belgium, France, England, Spain, Switzerland, Greece, Lebanon, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong.

Are you a member of any other clubs or organizations?
Special Olympics and other organizations benefiting people with disabilities have been my main volunteer activities. In the past years I have coached SO bowling, basketball, tennis and swimming, also skiing in Gatlinburg.

What is your favorite candy or treat?
Chocolate in any shape or form. Milka with Hasselnüsse.

What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?
Champignons Escargots, they tasted delicious when I didn't think about what I ate.

What are your other favorite sports?
I love to play tennis . Hiking always gets me high

What are your favorite sports to watch?
Politics!!!

What is your favorite holiday?
Thanksgiving . Celebrating family and friends with gratitude.

During the pandemic did you learn a new skill or improve an old one?
Reading and expanding my horizon with books that challenge my thinking.
