Come out and connect with your Ski Club friends for a mid-week treat because you deserve it! Granite City is a casual eatery that specializes in American comfort food and craft beers that are brewed on site. The Happy Hour ends at 6 PM and includes local craft beer, wines, wells, appetizers and small bites. Look for us in the bar area starting around 5 PM. Please RSVP on the club website on the event calendar (log in for fastest results). Members & Guests are welcome.

DIRECTIONS:  I-65, exit 67 McEwen Drive, on west side next to the Drury Plaza Hotel

PARKING: Plenty of free parking in the lot at the restaurant.

Sunday, July 28th - Social Committee Planning Session - 2-4 PM


We are gathering at Mimi’s home on Sunday, July 28 at 2 PM to plan the Nashville Ski Club’s social events for the rest of the year.  The plan is to start a list of desired restaurants, sports venues, and other Middle TN event locations where we have expressed interest.

Mimi will provide beverages and small snacks. Please RSVP on the club website on the event calendar (log in for fastest results) so we have a good idea of how many people will be attending.

LOCATION: Franklin, TN
Note: We will provide the home address to members who RSVP for this event.

PARKING: Parking is available on the street in front of the house.

Tuesday, August 6th - August Membership Meeting - begin gathering 5:30 PM - meeting 6:30 PM - social and dinner continues


Join us for our August meeting as we head south to Cool Springs. We'll meet at a new-to-us location, Party Fowl, which specializes in Nashville Hot Chicken but has a heat scale that goes from "Southern Fried" to "Poultrygeist"! If hot chicken is not your thing they also have Gumbo, Salads, Catfish, Pimento Cheese and more. Happy Hour all day on Tuesdays!  Look for us in the separate party/meeting area to your left as you enter.  If it's not too hot we have the option to move to the covered patio.  Please note that a gratuity will be added to all checks.

Location: Party Fowl,  1914 Galleria Blvd., Franklin, TN. 37067

Directions: Party Fowl is in the southwest corner of the Cool Springs Galleria mall. From points north of Cool Springs, take I-65 South to exit 69/Galleria Blvd.  Follow Galleria Blvd to the far corner of the mall.  From points south of Cool Springs, take I-65 North to exit 68B/Cool Springs Blvd. West. Turn right on Mallory Ln, then a slight right on to S Springs Dr. Turn left on Galleria Blvd on the mall property.  It's located next to King's Bowling Lanes.  Or use your favorite GPS!

Thursday, August 8th - Sunset Paddle - 6-8 PM


Join your fellow ski club members on Thursday, August 8 for a sunset paddle to Luau Island on Percy Priest Lake, where we will enjoy happy hour and perhaps a swim while watching the sunset color the sky. We will gather next to the sailboat marina at Hamilton Creek at 6 PM and depart at 6:30 PM. Bring your own kayak (or canoe, paddleboard, etc.), drinks/snacks and make sure you have a light for your kayak, as we will be paddling back by the light of the full moon.

Come out and celebrate with your Ski Club buddies to enjoy chips, salsa, Mexican food, and your favorite beverage!
Uncle Julio’s is a Mexican restaurant that specializes in fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine. From appetizers to drinks, to fajitas to desserts, they only use the best ingredients and make everything from scratch.

Uncle Julio’s Happy Hour is from 3-6 PM and includes drinks, appetizers, and small bites. Look for us gathering to the right of the bar, starting around 5 PM. Tuesday, September 3rd - September Membership Meeting - begin gathering 5:30 PM - meeting 6:30 PM - social and dinner continues


Our September meeting is at a new-to-us place, The Food Company in Green Hills. It’s a fun and unusual space with delicious sandwiches, salads and a full bar.  The entrance is on the right.  Walk through the greenhouse bar and all the way through to the back patio for our meeting.  Trip leaders will be on hand to answer your questions about our ski trips.

Location: The Food Company, 2211 Bandywood Dr, Nashville, 37215

Directions: The Food Company is just a few doors down from Crow's Nest on Bandywood.  Once in Green Hills, turn west on Abbott Martin and then left on Bandywood.  Follow the curve and Food Company is just ahead on your left.  Coming from points west, as you take Abbott Martin east toward Green Hills, turn right on Hillsboro Circle then a quick left on Bandywood.  The Food Company will be on your right before you reach the curve.  Or use your favorite GPS!

Parking: Free parking in front & behind the restaurant or in the lot next door on the right. Some parking may be available in the Kroger lot.

Saturday September 14th – Paddle the Red River

Come join your Ski Club friends as we try a new adventure!

You will need to RSVP on the event page and then go to www.canoetheredriver.com to make your reservation

We will be doing the 8 AM Shuttle for the Bell Witch Float
  • Red River Canoe Co, 8002 Hwy 41 N, Adams, TN 37010
  • Members and guests sign up individually on line at canoetheredriver.com
  • 8:00 am Bell Witch Float (7.8m, 4-6 hr float)
  • Kayak rental $50; Canoe rental starts at $60; Portage for your own, $25
  • Will pick meeting spot and drive up together

Come out and connect with your Ski Club friends for a mid-week happy hour at Bar Louie. Bar Louie is known for their chef-inspired food, craft cocktails and martinis. Happy Hour is from 4-7 pm and includes domestic pints, local craft beers, wines, select premium liquor, small bites, and flatbreads. Look for us to the left of the bar area. Members & Guests are welcome. Please RSVP on the club website on the event calendar (log in for fastest results).

LOCATION: Bar Louie, One Bellevue Place, Nashville TN 37221

DIRECTIONS: Take I-40 West from Nashville and exit 196 at Highway 70S. Turn left onto 70S, then turn left onto One Bellevue Center (shopping area near the Panera Bread). Continue straight on One Bellevue Center and Bar Louie is on the left just before you get to the AMC cinemas.

PARKING: Plenty of parking is available around the back of the restaurant.

Saturday-Sunday, September 21-22 -  Charit Creek Lodge Weekend


Please join us for a hike to Charit Creek Lodge, a short one-mile but moderately strenuous trek in the heart of Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, located three hours east of Nashville. From there, one can leave their belongings and explore the area or enjoy the serenity. The lodge offers the perfect place to relax and reconnect. Play games in the dining room by the wood-burning stove or toss horseshoes on the lawn. Hike to the Twin Arches or Slave Falls. Splash in Station Camp creek or just sit on the porch and enjoy a cold beverage and a book. 

NSC will have its own cabin for our rustic yet charming accommodations. Handcrafted meals that are thoughtfully prepared with fresh and nourishing ingredients are provided. Guests will be treated to dinner and breakfast as part of their overnight stay. Wine is offered for sale or BYOB.

Carpools will be arranged or come on your own.  Possible Saturday morning horseback riding through forests of eastern evergreens and giant rhododendron might be an option if there is interest; let the event leader know if you're interested.

Things to know about Charit Creek Lodge:
  • There is no electricity or cell service at the lodge
  • Reset your watches as Charit Creek is in the Eastern Time Zone
  • Dinner is at 6 PM ET and Breakfast is at 8 AM ET
  • There are hot showers and flush toilets
  • Bring your own towel and soap
  • Bring flashlights/headlamps
Registration opens Monday, June 3rd at 1 PM CT on the event page and is $150 per person.  Members only at this time.  16 spaces available; more spots available for those willing to share a double bunk.

Saturday September 28th - Hike: Volunteer Trail at Long Hunter State Park

Join your Ski Club friends as we start the hiking season with the easy/moderate Volunteer Trail.

Meet at the trial head to start hike at 7 AM sharp! The loop is just under 4 miles and should take about two hours.

Arrington Vineyards

If you love wine, live music, and being outside, then we have the perfect place for you to spend your Friday afternoon. Co-owned by Country Music artist Kix Brooks, Arrington Vineyards is located 25 miles south of Nashville in Arrington, Tennessee. Their beautiful 95-acre property includes 16 acres of vineyards, five tasting rooms, gorgeous views, shaded picnic areas, live music on weekends, and plenty of free parking. Arrington Vineyards (AV) proudly produces and bottles twenty-two award-winning wines onsite.

Join the Nashville Ski Club for a fun picnic outing – bring family and guests to experience why they are known as “Nashville’s Wine Country”.  Bring your own non-alcoholic drinks and bring some food to share with others, such as appetizers, desserts, and finger food.  Coolers are allowed but can be searched by security, so make sure to not bring any outside alcoholic beverages. Bottles of AV wine, crackers, cheese, cured meats, and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased in the Arrington Vineyards gift shop. Mimi will bring paper plates, plastic wine glasses, and napkins and will arrive early and encourage a few others to arrive early so we can reserve enough picnic tables to accommodate our group. Please RSVP below (log in for fastest results) so we have a good idea of how many picnic tables to grab. Members & Guests are welcome.

MUSIC: “Music in the Vines” - There are two bands scheduled for October 5 starting at 3pm, “Miles Damaso Group” which is a Jazz band and the “Howlin' Brothers” bluegrass band.

LOCATION: Arrington Vineyards, Arrington TN

DIRECTIONS:  I-65, Exit 65 onto Highway 96. Drive 7.4 miles on Highway 96 and Turn Right on Cox Road. Take Cox Rd for 2 miles and turn left on Patton Road. The winery entrance is on the right in 0.2 miles.

PARKING: Plenty of parking is available, some is on gravel lots and flat fields

RSVP: on the event page to let us know who and how many are coming, so we can reserve picnic tables and make special arrangements if we are over 20 people as required by AV staff.

We're headed to Gatlinburg & the Great Smoky Mountains for some of the best fall foliage displays in Tennessee. Join us Thursday/Friday - Sunday, October 24/25-27, 2024 for hiking, moonshine tasting, ski resort trade show with food, wine & beer, and a Halloween DJ costume dance party with dessert, beer and wine.
