About this event

Join your fellow Ski Club adventurers for an unforgettable immersion into the vibrant fall foliage surrounding Greeter Falls on Saturday, October 18th! This moderate, 7-mile trek from the Big Creek Trailhead promises breathtaking views of the fiery autumn landscape and features several stunning waterfalls along the way.

The journey starts at the scenic Big Creek valley. The path offers numerous overlooks filled with fall colors. See Laurel Falls, the vistas from Laurel Gulf Overlook, and Boardtree Falls before reaching Greeter Falls.

Greeter Falls, within Savage Gulf State Natural Area, is known for its double-tiered cascade. Water plunges over ledges into a clear plunge pool. The lower falls have a dramatic 50-foot drop and a spiral staircase to a base vantage point.

A packed lunch will be enjoyed at Greeter Falls. The well-maintained trail has rocky and slippery sections. Sturdy shoes with good tread are recommended.

Important Details:
- Meeting Point: Gather at the Cracker Barrel on Chaffin Place off Highway 96 in Murfreesboro at 7:45 AM, departing at 8:00 AM SHARP!
- Arrival at Greeter Falls Parking Area: Approximately 9:15 AM. Carpooling to the Big Creek Gulf Trailhead, about 15 minutes away, will be coordinated.
- Return to Cracker Barrel: Anticipated return time is around 2:30 PM.

Hike Difficulty: This hike is considered moderate. If you can complete the Mossy Ridge loop or the Radnor Lake trail (including both ridges) in less than 2.5 hours, you should be well-prepared for this adventure.

Essential Gear:
- Sturdy hiking shoes with good traction
- Plenty of water
- Packed lunch
