Thursday, May 21 - Thirsty Thursday at TailGate HQ - 5:30 PM

Pizza, Pints, and a Premiere

Get ready for an epic night at the Nashville Ski Club’s favorite "Headquarters!" We’re heading to TailGate Brewery on Charlotte Pike for a casual evening of craft brews, scratch-made pizza, and a movie under the stars.

The Details:
  • Where to Find Us: Look for the NSC crew at the outdoor picnic tables in the back. It’s a massive 7-acre campus, so there’s plenty of room to spread out.
  • Easy Ordering: No need to wait in a long line—there’s an outdoor ordering area for quick service, plus a large indoor bar for drinks and a dedicated pizza counter.
  • Movie Night: Stick around! At 7:00 PM, the large outdoor screens kick on for TailGate’s weekly Movie Night. (The movie title will be announced soon—stay tuned!)
  • Rain or Shine: If the Tennessee weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move the party into their huge indoor taproom or the heated "Party Barn."
The Plan:
  • 5:30 PM: Gathering and social hour at the back picnic tables.
  • 6:30 PM: Quick club updates and summer event announcements.
  • 7:00 PM: Movie starts!
Location: 7300 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN 37209

The Legendary Honey Creek Loop: Are You Up for the Challenge?

⚠️ TIME ZONE WARNING: This hike meets in the Eastern Time Zone. If you're driving from Nashville, you'll "lose" an hour on the way—plan accordingly!

What to Expect:
  • The Terrain: This is a Moderate to HARD technical trek. Prepare for boulder scrambles, ladder climbs, creek crossings, and even a rope-assisted rock face descent.

  • The Reward: Breathtaking river overlooks, hidden "Garden of Eden" waterfalls, massive rock houses, and lush spring rhododendrons.

Take I-40 to Exit 226 (Mount Juliet Road) and go to the right. Then take the second left into the shopping center. You’ll see Chick-fil-A there. Park in the lot behind Chick-fil-A, and we’ll meet there.

If anyone is coming from I-840 to I-40E we can meet in Lebanon. Let us know and we will arrange for carpooling there.

Location: Honey Creek Overlook, Allardt, TN (Find it on Waze!)
View the loop: on the All Trails site

Wood-Fired Magic at Noko

Join the Nashville Ski Club as we cross the river to East Nashville for an evening of "affordable luxury" at Noko. This Asian-inspired, live-fire grill concept has taken the Music City culinary scene by storm, earning coveted spots on OpenTable’s Top 100 Restaurants in the U.S. and The New York Times’ 25 Best Restaurants in Nashville Right Now.

Our reservation is strictly limited to 8 spots, so you’ll want to act fast to secure your seat at one of the hardest-to-get tables in town!

The Culinary Mastermind

The kitchen is helmed by 2025 James Beard semi-finalist Executive Chef Dung “Junior” Vo. Chef Vo seamlessly blends traditional Asian flavors with contemporary Southern live-wood techniques. The menu features incredible, shareable comfort foods reimagined over the fire—including their famous Wagyu Brisket with an Asian spice rub, wood-fired Tuna Crispy Rice, and Crab Fried Rice tossed in wagyu fat.

Pair your meal with a selection from their curated sake list or dive into their inventive cocktail program, featuring unique creations like the Ube Colada and the Kimchi Maria.

Parking & Logistics
  • The Lot: There are 50 parking spots available in the shared Shops at Porter East lot directly in front of the restaurant.

  • Street Parking: Because this lot is shared and gets busy close to dinner time, it may fill up. If it is full, free street parking is readily available on Franklin, Gentry, Scott, and other nearby side streets. (Please just be mindful not to block any neighborhood driveways!)
