Wednesday, November 20th - Weekend Starts on Wednesday - 5-8 PM


Sam's Place in Belle Meade

Come out and connect with your Ski Club friends for a mid-week happy hour at Sam’s Place in Belle Meade. Sam’s Place is known for making hand-patted burgers, sauces, soups, and dressings daily. Sam’s opened in 2000 with a goal of becoming Nashville’s #1 Sports Grill. They have been voted the best sports grill for the last 14 years. All TVs are Hi Def and are mounted such that every seat has a great view.

Look for us on the outdoor patio (weather permitting, if raining we will be inside). Happy hour lasts until 7:00 pm and includes ½ price on beers and single liquor drinks. Wines by the glass are $3 off (excluding house wines).

Members & Guests are welcome. Please RSVP on the event page (log in for fastest results) to let us know who and how many are coming. We can only arrange to get a "section" and save seating for those who RSVP.

LOCATION: Sam’s Place, 6051 Highway 100, Nashville TN 37205

DIRECTIONS: Take I-65 to West End Blvd, head west on West End Blvd which becomes Highway 100. Sam's is on the corner of Hwy 100 and West Tyne Blvd. Turn into parking lot.

PARKING: Plenty of free parking around the restaurant and in the nearby parking garage.

Thursday, November 28th - Thanksgiving Dinner - 3 PM

For over 30 years Susan Rose has opened her home to anyone who wants to enjoy a holiday meal.  She continues the tradition again this year.

If you don’t have any plans she hopes you will join her on this special day for some great food (even if she does say so herself) and a delightful time and you might see some old friends and will have an opportunity to make some new friends. If your plans change at the last minute  feel free to stop by and join in; the more the merrier.

Note: If you know in advance that you will be joining us, she would appreciate hearing from you.

Susan will be providing the Turkey, ham, dressing, gravy, yams, fried corn, green bean & potatoes, rolls, and a couple of desserts and wine.

Tuesday, December 3rd - December Membership Meeting - begin gathering 5:30 PM - meeting 6:30 PM - social and dinner continues


Our final meeting of 2024 is at an old favorite in a new location… just south of Cool Springs in Berry Farms. Trip leaders will be on hand to answer questions about our upcoming trips..

Location: Ludlow & Prime, 6001 Hughes Crossing, Ste. 150, Franklin TN 37064

Directions: from Nashville: south on I-65 to Goose Creek Bypass, turn right at bottom of exit. Turn right onto Captain Freeman into Berry Farms and right again on Hughes Crossing. Ludlow & Prime is just ahead on the left.  Or use your favorite GPS!

Parking: Free parking on street or in surrounding lots.

Wednesday, December 19 - Christmas Happy Hour - From 5-8 PM


Firebirds Wood-Fired Grill, Brentwood

Come out and connect with your Ski Club friends for a Christmas happy hour at Firebirds in Brentwood. This is a social where you can meet up with ski club friends to share your Christmas plans and ski destinations for the new year. Look for us in the Firebar (bar area near the fireplace). The firebar has a unique, backlit waterfall display of bottles that provides a relaxing backdrop for our holiday gathering.

Happy hour lasts until 7:00 pm and includes $3 off shared plates, $2 off draft beers, $5 for well drinks, $6 for glasses of wine, and $7.95 for classic cocktails. Please RSVP on the club website on the event calendar (log in for fastest results).

LOCATION: Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, 700 Old Hickory Blvd, Brentwood 37027

DIRECTIONS: Take I-65 to Old Hickory Blvd (exit 74A), head east on OHB for about ¾ of a mile. Turn left into parking lot.

PARKING: Plenty of parking is available in the parking lot around the restaurant and out back in the free parking garage.

Saturday, December 21 - Virgin Falls Hike - 7:15 AM sharp


Come join your fellow Ski Club members as we visit one of the best waterfall hikes in the state!

We’ll start off with an easy stroll to Martha’s Pretty Point overlook, and then head down to Virgin Falls. This down in and back up out hike is 10 miles and will take approximately 6 hours including a short lunch break.

We will meet at the Cracker Barrel in Mt Juliet just off I-40 exit 226A at 7:15 AM to leave at 7:30 AM SHARP! It will take about an hour and a half to reach the trailhead. The hike should take approximately 5 hours including a short lunch break. We should be back to Mt Juliet by approximately 3:30 PM.

RSVP is required for this hike, and if you have any questions you can call me at 615.513.8121.

If you can hike Mossy Ridge, or both ridges at Radnor in about 2 hours, you should be able to complete this hike.

RSVPs will be strictly monitored. Group size is limited for safety. Please be kind and let the organizer know if you need to cancel.

Wednesday, January 1 - New Year's Day Hike: Radnor Lake - 6:45 AM sharp


Come join your fellow Ski Club members as we start the year with one of our favorite local hikes!

We will meet at the visitor center on the west side off of Granny White Pike at 6:45 AM for a 7:00 AM departure SHARP!

We’ll plan to start out along the lake to Gainer Ridge, then over to South Cove Trail (the ridge), then circle back on South Cove Trail, and return to the visitor center on South Lake Trail (road).

This is approximately 7.5 miles and rated difficult. It should take just under four hours to complete. We will see about going for brunch after the hike.

RSVP is required for this hike, and if you have any questions, you can call Joe at 615.513.8121.

Tuesday, January 7th - January Membership Meeting - begin gathering 5:30 PM - meeting 6:30 PM - social and dinner continues

 

Our January membership meeting will be at the Corner Pub in Brentwood. We’ll have a private room where we can discuss ski club business as well as upcoming ski trips and what we've heard from those on the Jackson Hole trip.

Corner Pub is a casual restaurant that specializes in appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, beer and bar drinks. Happy hour prices last until 7 PM.

Directions: I-65 Exit 74A (head east on Old Hickory Blvd). Go approximately ¾ mile.  Corner Pub is on the left in the middle of a strip center in front of the mid-rise building.

Skylight Bar in the Factory at Franklin

Have you been to the Factory at Franklin lately? It has been completely transformed with new space and new vendors starting with the Skylight Bar as you walk in the north entrance off Franklin Road. The Skylight Bar I located in the Grand Hall and is a place to connect with fellow colleagues amidst beautiful architecture and authentic Franklin history.

The Skylight bar specializes in quality cocktails infused with home-made ingredients, local beers, and exquisite wines.

Look for us around the bar. Drinks range from $8 - $20. Members & Guests are welcome. Please RSVP on the event calendar (log in for fastest results).

Evelyn’s restaurant is a love letter to classic Americana and the flavors of the South, while capturing the art of modern cuisine using nostalgic recipes expressed in new unique ways. It is an art-filled oasis with a retro cosmopolitan-type vibe.

Evelyn’s is located on the ground floor of the Hutton Hotel at 1808 West End Avenue in Nashville. Entrees range from $26 - $50. This small group event is limited to 8 people, and we welcome both members and guests of members. RSVP required to reserve your seat, using a first-come basis.

LOCATION: Evelyn's, in the Hutton Hotel, 1808 West End Avenue, Nashville 37203

DIRECTIONS: Hutton Hotel is located just west of downtown Nashville. Take Broadway exit and head west, stay right onto West End Avenue. Hotel is on the right.

PARKING: Valet parking is available for $10 an hour plus tax after the first two hours with a restaurant receipt.  Self-parking in the Hutton Hotel garage for $14 an hour, plus tax. The garage entrance for self-parking is on Hayes Street between 18th and 19th avenues. The skybridge on the second floor of the garage connects to the hotel/restaurant.

It’s time to return to Brewhouse South!

Join your fellow ski club members and welcome our guests at this lively Cool Springs location! Share your trip experiences from Jackson Hole and Big Sky and get ready for Copper Mountain!

Brewhouse South offers daily specials, pizza by the slice (as well as 12” and 18” pies), wings and more than 70 tapped beers! It’s also home to Nashville’s original Bushwacker!

Our meeting area is at the back of the building.

Directions: From Nashville, take I-65 South to exit 68B toward WEST Cool Springs Boulevard. Go .7 mile. Turn right onto Mallory Lane and go for .3 mile.  Turn right onto S Springs Drive and go .3 mile.  Turn right onto Galleria Boulevard and Brewhouse South will be on the right at 1855 Galleria Boulevard.  Or use your favorite GPS!
