Percy Warner Equestrian Center

Join us for a summer evening under the stars at one of Nashville’s best-kept secrets — the Full Moon Pickin’ Party, a beloved local tradition for nearly 30 years! Set in the beautiful Percy Warner Park, this bluegrass series offers the perfect mix of live music, good food, and great company — all for a good cause.

Expect bluegrass jams, pickin’ circles tucked around the historic equestrian barn, food trucks galore, and cold brews to toast the full moon. This is a relaxed, family-friendly evening — feel free to bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and even your dog (on a leash, please)! Look for our flying banners to meet up with the group.

Tuesday, September 29 - Volunteer Night at Second Harvest Food Bank - 5:30-8:00 PM

We need your help! Come out and join others who are making a difference in people’s lives volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank! The plan is to help in the Cold Food Sort. It is more like refrigerator temp cold, not skiing in extreme cold. Great music will be playing over all the hustle and bustle, which makes it fun and keeps you moving, and maybe even singing, while we sort!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

ALL warehouse volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes. Volunteers wearing sandals or flip-flops will not be allowed to volunteer.
Clean jackets and gloves are available to use, but bring a cozy extra layer if you think you may need it.
Be sure and wear casual/comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty!
Lockers are available for any bags, purses, or backpacks, but it is best if these items are left in a locked vehicle out of sight.
You are encouraged to bring your own reusable water bottle to hydrate. The warehouse also has some bottles of water, if you forget yours.
When you arrive, sign in on an iPad, get a nametag, and sign the safety log. Everyone will receive an introduction to the warehouse operations prior to sorting. You will also receive directions about your specific task once we get to the cold room.

LOCATION: Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, 331 Great Circle Road, Nashville, TN 37228

PARKING: Free parking is available in the parking lot next to the warehouse. Try to carpool, if possible.

Serrato's Steakhouse, Brentwood

Members, join us for an intimate dining experience at Serrato's Steakhouse in Brentwood! Sunday, October 4 - Hike: Radnor Lake - meet at 6:45 AM, depart 7 AM sharp!

Kick off the fall season with your fellow Ski Club members on a great warm-up hike—and our final tune-up before Charit Creek weekend! We're meeting early to get ahead of the crowds and enjoy the autumn morning.

Our route heads out along the lake to Gainer Ridge, crosses over to the South Cove Trail ridge, circles back on the South Lake Trail, and returns to the dam via Otter Creek Road.

Trail Details:

Distance: Approx. 7.5 miles
Difficulty: Rated Difficult
Duration: Just under 4 hours
Flexible Options: Looking for a lighter trek? Hikers can easily switch to the flatter Lake Trail or Otter Creek Road at the 1-mile, 3-mile, or 5-mile mark.

Tuesday, October 6 - Membership Meeting - begin gathering 5:30 PM, meeting at 6:30 PM

Join us for our October Membership Meeting at Karrington Rowe, a fantastic upscale dining spot right in the heart of Brentwood! We’ll start gathering at 5:30 PM for social hour, with our club meeting kicking off at 6:30 PM. As usual we welcome not only our members but their guests and any visitors.

With winter just around the corner, this is a prime time to check in on our remaining ski trip spots, chat with trip leaders, and socialize with fellow members.

Karrington Rowe features a beautifully crafted, sophisticated menu that expertly blends American favorites with creative, global flavors. If you plan to stay for dinner, some of their highly-rated specialties include:

The Signature KR Burger: Made with prime-cut beef, white cheddar, comeback sauce, and a savory onion-bacon jam.

Saturday-Sunday, October 10-11 - Charit Creek Weekend Getaway

Escape into the wild beauty of Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area for a weekend retreat to Charit Creek Lodge — just three hours east of Nashville. Join us for a short (one-mile), moderately challenging hike into a peaceful haven surrounded by forest, trails, and history.
Once you arrive, drop your pack and choose your own adventure:

Hike to Twin Arches or Slave Falls
Splash in Station Camp Creek
Lounge on the porch with a cold drink and a good book
Gather around the wood-burning stove for games
Challenge your friends to a round of horseshoes

Accommodations & Meals We will have our own rustic yet cozy cabin. Your overnight stay includes handcrafted dinner and breakfast, made with fresh, nourishing ingredients. Wine is available for purchase, or feel free to bring your own.

Optional Add-On Interested in horseback riding through groves of eastern evergreens and towering rhododendron? Let the event leader know — we’ll organize a Saturday morning ride if there’s enough interest.

Saturday, October 17 - NSC Picnic at Arrington Vineyards - 3-6 PM

If you love wine, live music, and being outside, then we have the perfect place for you to spend your Saturday afternoon. Co-owned by Country Music artist Kix Brooks, Arrington Vineyards is located 25 miles south of Nashville in Arrington, Tennessee. Their beautiful 95-acre property includes 16 acres of vineyards, five tasting rooms, gorgeous views, shaded picnic areas, live music on weekends, and plenty of free parking. Arrington Vineyards (AV) proudly produces and bottles twenty-two award-winning wines onsite.

Join the Nashville Ski Club for a fun picnic outing – bring family and guests to experience why they are known as “Nashville’s Wine Country”. Bring your own non-alcoholic drinks and bring some food to share with others, such as appetizers, desserts, and finger food. Coolers are allowed but can be searched by security, so make sure to not bring any outside alcoholic beverages. Bottles of AV wine, crackers, cheese, cured meats, and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased in the Arrington Vineyards gift shop. Mimi will bring paper plates, plastic wine glasses, and napkins and will arrive early and encourage a few others to arrive early so we can reserve enough picnic tables to accommodate our group. Members & Guests are welcome. We will gather on the hillside – near the stage and in front of the pavilion. Look for our NSC Banner!

Sunday, October 18 - Beaman Park Fall Hike - 8 AM sharp!

Sledge Hill & Henry Hollow Loop | 4.3 Miles | Moderate

Join the Nashville Ski Club for a beautiful fall hike through one of North Nashville's hidden gems, Beaman Park!

We'll explore the scenic Sledge Hill Trail and Henry Hollow Loop, combining them into a 4.3-mile round-trip hike rated as moderate in difficulty. As autumn begins to settle in, we expect to see the first hints of fall color a long the trail, making this a perfect opportunity to enjoy the season outdoors.

We will meet at the Beaman Park Nature Center at 8:00 AM, with an 8:15 AM departure.

These trails are dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your pup along for the adventure. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times.

Head to Gatlinburg & the Great Smoky Mountains for some of the best fall foliage displays in Tennessee. Join us Friday - Sunday, October 23-25, 2026 for hiking, moonshine tasting, ski resort trade show with food, wine & beer, and a Halloween DJ costume dance party with dessert, beer and wine.

Calling all foodies! Join us for an authentic Italian dinner followed by a extra-sweet bonus stop right next door for our October Gastronomic Gallivant.

We’ll start the evening at Little Hats Italian Market, famous for their gourmet Italian-style sandwiches, house-made pastas, fresh salads, and imported specialty items. Having supplied Nashville with fresh pasta for decades under Alfresco Pasta, they bring the finest cheeses, cured meats, and traditional Italian flavors straight to Franklin.
