Snowmass Trip Report

The snow and weather was fantastic everywhere out west this season, and the Snowmass Trip was right up there with great snow and weather!  Our travel was on schedule, with the grocery and beverage stop providing the first entertainment.

Our group enjoyed a great welcoming party on Saturday where Katie Peshek of The Crestwood provided insider info for our week on Snowmass.  After a day of skiing, the group gathered at Slow Groovin' BBQ for a great dinner where we enjoyed door-to-door shuttle service by the drivers from The Crestwood. Thatnks to David Smith for arranging this dinner spot.

The group had great ski-in/ski-out access to both the main gondola and main 6-pack chairlift, and a few people ventured over to Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Aspen Mountain to ski as well.

A few people snowmobiled and window shopped on Wednesday.  Bluebird skies continued on Thursday and Friday, with Chef Barb Ford (and her band of merry elves) pulling off the capstone meal for the entire group on St. Patrick's Day, consisting of corned beef and cabbage, colcannon potatoes, Irish stew and too many fixins to mention. Snowmass tourism contributed beer and wine we were able to also feed many of the Crestwood staff on duty Friday night.

At a reasonable hour Saturday morning we all gathered for the bus ride back to the airport and the flight home. Most everyone was glad to sleep in their own beds after a great trip to Snowmass. We're looking forward to the ski trip possibilities for 2023-24!

March 11-18.  Four mountains, two towns, and one unforgettable experience are on tap for you when you travel to Snowmass with the club this season.  Snowmass offers the greatest options for terrain, winter activities, and on-mountain activities, regardless of skill level or age.

We'll be staying at The Crestwood condos, a ski-in/ski-out lodge that is located near the base of Snowmass, an easy ski down to either the main base or the Elk Camp gondola.  It also offers easy access to ski school.

We will be flying non-stop from Nashville to Denver (BNA-DEN). Then a motorcoach will take us directly to our condos with a stop for groceries, etc.

Full package includes: r/t air BNA-DEN; r/t ground transfer; 7-nights lodging @ double occupancy, baggage assistance at condo; trip dinner & socials; 5-of-6 days lift tickets: $2724
Land-only includes: all of the above EXCEPT air and ground xfer: $2169
Lift Ticket options include 0-6 days or use/purchase IKON pass on the trip registration page.
($463 value built into displayed prices for typical 5 of 6 day lifts)
Lift tickets purchased thru the trip page are good at all four area resorts: Aspen Mountain, Snowmass, Buttermilk, and Aspen Highlands.

We will have a great time! First come, first served. Don't miss out. Just 24 spots to start.
